Clean Solar Solutions O&M services have been recognised at the 2022 Solar & Storage awards event. The event was held at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham. We are very proud to have been awarded as the best Solar Operations & Management (O&M) Company for 2022. This is the second time that we have been named as the best solar O&M company in the UK, with the last award coming in 2017.
Clean Solar Solutions were short-listed alongside RES and Lightsource BP. They are two powerhouses of the solar industry globally. RES are the world’s largest independent renewable company. They operate over 23GW of renewable energy assets globally. Lightsource BP have developed nearly 6GW of solar globally in 18 countries. It was our defining David, Goliath and Goliath’s big brother moment!
Clean Solar Solutions Key Achievements
During 2022, Clean Solar Solutions have accomplished many notable things. Firstly, we have trebled our staff base. This includes both office and field-based members of staff. Secondly, turnover and profits have doubled. Thirdly, another solar panel cleaning robot was added to our fleet. We have another on order which is due delivery in Q2 of 2023. Lastly, our internal software and reporting systems have been completely re-vamped. This has led to a smoother sales and operations experience for our staff and a quicker response time for our clients.
Speaking of the year the Company has experienced, MD Steve Williams comments “2022 has been a year of great risk and great reward. We have had challenges to overcome as a result of our contninued growth. One challenge is lack of resource. The solar industry as a whole is under-resourced. We need more people to enter into this exciting and fast-paced industry. We certainly have client demand for our high quality services and we intend to be creative in acquiring the correct number of quality staff to fulfil the requirements of our clients.
Despite this, we have gone on the enjoy some amazing success this year, culminating in the award give to us at this year’s Solar & Storage event. To be crowned as the best O&M company in the U.K. is no mean feat. There are some high quality O&M companies in our industry. We are very proud to be part of that group.”
An Award Winning Streak
Steve remains the only person to have received the award ‘U.K. Solar Innovator of the Year’ back in 2019. Prior to this, in 2017 & 2018, Steve won awards for Energy Efficiency Champion of the Year & Energy Company Management awards. Clean Solar Solutions also won ‘U.K. Solar O&M Provider of the Year’ in 2017. Steve’s leadership of the company continues to drive Clean Solar Solutions into new territories and challenging directions.
During 2022, Clean Solar Solutions have carried out huge amounts of rooftop and ground mount solar panel cleaning. We have also coupled this with our electrical servicing and repair service. This allows us to clean and service an array on the same day. Our teams also fit high quality bird deterrents and bird proofing systems. The result is competitive costs for our clients. We utilise multiple skill sets in one team. This means minimum disruption for our clients.
During the course of the Solar & Storage event, Steve Williams also spoke on two differing subjects. One was solar based, ‘The Top 5 Solar Design & O&M Improvements’. This presentation showcased the cost savings that asset owners can enjoy if more attention is given to roof access, soiling mitigation & cleaning schedules at design phase. In addition, he spoke on the theme ‘Making The Most Of The Changing Seasons Of Life’. His material developed the idea of coping with personal and business tragedies, along with making the most of the more enjoyable times in life. As a result of this part, Steve has been invited to speak to staff at two large companies on themes relating to personal development and motivation.
