Steve Williams has over 22 years experience of working at height and over 7 years experience of cleaning roof and ground mounted solar panels, expanding Clean Solar Solutions into the award-winning O&M company it is now. He has also won national renewable energy industry awards, including a special commendation as an Energy Efficiency Champion and third place for Business Development Director of the Year 2018.
Steve also sits on the O&M Task Force for Solar Power Europe and has acted as an ambassador for Solar Power Europe on a trip to Mexico City, speaking at the 2018 ASOLMEX O&M event about the challenges Mexico will face in regard to solar panel cleaning.
Strong focuses of the STA O&M Working Group are health, safety and best practice. They also consider the latest cutting-edge developments in the solar industry. Steve’s extensive knowledge of health and safety, his constant innovation and development of his companies, along with the information and reputation he is acquiring globally, made him an appealing choice for helping to lead the O&M Working Group.
Steve comments “To be appointed as Vice-Chair of the O&M Working Group is indeed a great privilege. To come from the window cleaning industry into solar and self-teach along the way over the last 7 years, has indeed been a challenge. However, I have always viewed my experience as being unique within the solar industry and have continuously strived to break down barriers, improve quality and standards in terms of safety and quality within the solar industry. To have been give position of Vice-Chair makes all of the hard work worthwhile and I look forward to contributing to the O&M arm of the solar industry further in my new role.”
