Steve entered the solar industry in 2013, with 17 years experience in the window and property cleaning industries, but had zero knowledge of solar. Through prolonged and intense sessions of self-teaching, Steve began to understand the solar industry, idenify gaps and carve out his niche as a solar panel cleaning pioneer.
This commendation is the latest in a series of accolades for Steve, in the years since. He has gone on to consistently prove himself to be a pioneer in the solar industry. In addition to this latest recognition, Steve led Clean Solar Solutions U.K. to win ‘Best Solar O&M Company of the Year’ in 2017. In 2018, he was given a ‘Business Development Director of the Year award at the Renewable Energy Efficiency Awards. He was voted ‘U.K. Solar Innovator of the Year’ in 2019. His leadership of Clean Solar Solutions has also seen the company win the title of U.K.’s Best Solar O&M Company of the Year’ most recently in October 2022.
Steve’s Contributions To The Solar Industry Outside of Clean Solar Solutions
Steve’s influence extends far beyond Clean Solar Solutions. As the founder of the International Solar Cleaning Academy (ISCA), he plays a crucial role in educating solar professionals globally, promoting best practices in solar panel cleaning and safety. Through ISCA, Steve has trained numerous O&M specialists on the importance of working at height, electrical safety, and the proper techniques for maximizing solar panel efficiency.
Moreover, Steve operates his own consultancy firm, Solar O&M Consultancy Ltd, where he advises clients on various aspects of solar management and safety. His consultancy work includes:

- Fire risk assessments for solar arrays
- Soiling loss calculations, crucial for optimizing energy generation

Steve, along with other business partners, has set up Clean Solar Solutions America LLC. They are seeking to replicate the technical knowledge, expertise and high levels of safe systems of work that CSS U.K. adheres to in the U.K. across into the U.S. Looking ahead to 2025, Steve has announced plans to move permanently to Las Vegas, a step that underscores his long-term commitment to the U.S. solar industry. This move will allow him to further expand his knowledge and continue his pioneering work to benefit the growing solar sector in the U.S. His vision for Clean Solar Solutions America includes continued innovation in solar panel cleaning technologies, consultancy services, and expanding O&M practices that raise the industry standard.
